Model making procedure

Model inquiry

To provide a quotation, 3dr Models require the information below:

All files for the project would help us to provide an accurate quote, however, the below information are crucial to determine the cost.

- Site plan indicating model boundary.
- Preferred scale or size of the model.
- Drawings of the project in CAD, JPG or PDF.
- Renderings if available to understand the details.
- Delivery destination.

Regarding Model scale :
While we work in scales ranging from 1:1 to 1:10000,
the appropriate scale for your unique model will depend on
- how much space is available to showcase the model.
- how much detail is required for the model.

We’d be happy to advice you an appropriate scale.

Once we receive the above info, we can prepare a model diagram with the quotation within 48 hours.

Receiving project information

Once the quotation and diagram is approved, we require the final set of complete drawings to produce the model according to the latest design.

Masterplan :
Updated masterplan in CAD.
Topography files if neccessary.

Buildings :
Elevations, plan and section of all buildings in CAD.
3d files would be more helpful (Sketchup / Rhino / 3d Max)
Renders, material specifications.

Landscape :
Landscape drawings with level markings.
Material / color / tree types.
Renderings for reference.

3dr Models will assign one project manager to communicate with the client and receive all required information.

Model Sample Preparation And Confirmation

After receiving the final files, 3dr Models can produce a small sample of (30cm x 30cm) for approval from the client.
This can help to determine the final output of the entire model.

The Sample can help to see the structure details, color match, texture, lighting effect of the model to ensure the sample is consistent with your design philosophy, before production of the entire model takes place.

Model production and progress report

Upon commencement of model production, the project manager will provide you progress images on a regular basis to understand the progress of the model and the expected completion time. We can provide you with updates on scale model construction as often as you request depending on their complexity. This helps for the easy flow of production.

Model completion & packing

Upon completion of the model and receiving the approval for shipment (AFS) the model will be packed for shipment.
All our models come in separate pieces and erected on removable legs for easy transportation. We deliver the model tightly secured and packed in wooden crates. In case of travel model (wherein the client has to travel to various destinations for presentationas and exhibitions), we can custom make light weight strong flight cases according to the size and need of the model.

Model shipment & installation

All our models are air shipped to the destination. Upon model arrival and clearance, we send our staff for the delivery and installation of the model.
Delivery arrangements will be discussed in the process of reaching a final quotation.
Our staffs are through professionals and will make sure everything is upto the satisfaction of the client.
